Our Story · Story No. 001 — The One That Started It All

Before There Was a Store, There Was a Door.

Some doors are opened. Ours was uncovered.

Now — Standing GuardThe preserved original door, no longer a warehouse entrance.

During demolition of an old warehouse, Ron discovered a weathered red door hidden behind the stucco. Knowing my love of history and architecture, he could hardly wait to send me a photograph.

“When Ron sent me the photograph of the door they had uncovered, it took my breath away. I didn't see something old that had been hidden behind a wall. I saw something extraordinary that had been waiting to be rediscovered.”

Ron recognized the discovery, but I recognized its possibilities.

We preserved the door, complete with its weathered red paint, wire-glass window, brass mail slot, and ornate brass doorknob.

Today, it no longer serves as an entrance. Instead, it stands guard over the warehouse, reminding us that beauty, character, and history can remain hidden until someone recognizes their worth.

That discovery inspired Red Door Reclamation Store—a place where forgotten treasures are rediscovered, their stories shared, and their possibilities renewed.

Our hope is that visitors will return not only to discover what's new, but also to read another story, revisit a memory, or simply enjoy the remarkable histories that everyday objects carry.

Because when a treasured object finds a new home, its story doesn't end.

There Are 100 Stories Behind This Door.

And the very first story belongs to the door itself.
